“Wageningen World City” takes you through the rich history and special significance of Wageningen. On the banks of the Rhine, a city grew into a symbol of freedom and knowledge.
The film explores the centuries-old landscapes, from the glacial ridges and floodplains to the hay meadows where agriculture and nature meet. We see how Wageningen developed from a fortified town into an industrial city and eventually into an internationally recognized city of knowledge. From the maker of Grutto! and Hooiland.
The film was made by Melchert Meijer Zu Schlochtern: the documentary filmmaker from Wageningen, known for films such as Hooiland, Grutto! and Green Musketeer.
